All have fallen short of the glory of God, but we confidently approach our father the King and say: I'm sorry.
We burn with lust and pride and envy. I'm sorry.
We follow the ways of the world and not Your commands. I'm sorry.
We go our own way, in our own will, on our own time. I'm sorry.
We destroy with our tongue and shoot poison from our hearts. I'm sorry.
This is the Word of the Lord: To love the Lord God will all your heart, all your strength, and all your might. With all your power, and all your trust, in all your faith.
Those that have little, more will be added to the ones who exercise it. To those that have much, more will be added to those that exercise it.
The Father awaits the ones who say: I'm sorry.
I've received forgiveness yet still I trample on the cross. I'm sorry.
I turn to the ways of the world: I'm sorry.
I'm greedy, I'm jealous, I'm angry.
I lust, I steal, I kill, I envy.
I'm sorry.
In You I'm complete and so I put down the desires of the flesh, but when I pick them back up, I know I can say: I'm sorry.
And you'll forgive. You always do.
For there is no height or depth, no past or present, no demon or power that can pull us from Your forgiveness, from Your love.
But there is a false power that says: how can you forgive yourself? And when my soul bends its ear to that I say: I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for letting unforgiveness creep into the heart you've cleansed.
I'm sorry for putting my ways above your ways.
My thoughts above your thoughts.
My heart above your heart.
Have mercy on me when I say I'm sorry.
Have mercy on me when I say I'm sorry.
Have mercy on me when I say I'm sorry.
Have mercy on me when I say I'm sorry.
In our Lord's name I say: I'm sorry.
Forever and Amen.
